About us

The Business Water Shop is the water side of Clearsight Energy, a UK utility consultancy founded in 2019. We do one thing here, and that’s business water. Switching, audits, refunds and tenders for companies in England and Scotland.

The Business Water Shop started with the water queries our energy clients kept sending us. Billing errors, retailers nobody could get hold of, charges that hadn’t been checked in years. Water needed a specialist rather than a tab on an energy site, so we built one.

What we do

Compare and switch

We quote your supply against our panel of 14 retailers and handle the switch end to end. Your supply is never interrupted. The water comes out of the same pipes either way.

Audits and refunds

We check up to six years of your bills for errors. Drainage charges, return to sewer allowances, estimated reads left uncorrected. Where we find overcharges, we recover them.

Tenders and multi-site

For portfolios we run the tender, consolidate your sites onto one contract and one invoice, and keep hold of the renewals so nothing drifts back onto default rates.

How we make our money

Retailers pay us a commission when you switch through us. You can ask us what we earn on your contract and we’ll tell you. If staying with your current retailer is the right answer, that’s the answer you’ll get.

Founder

Adam has worked in UK business utilities for 17 years, for suppliers, for brokerages, and running his own. He founded Clearsight Energy in 2019 and has worked with more than 10,000 businesses. TELCA 2024 Winner, Best Customer Service (SME).
